Bag-in-box line is South Africa bound

27 July 2007

In a joint project with Kliklok-Woodman agent Packaging Machinery Design (PMD), Nola's requirement was for a bagging, product handling and cartoning solution for rusk biscuits.

The packaging line starts with a Woodman Compak II bagmaker integrated with Yamato ADW510 weigher and vibratory feeder, plus Safeline metal detector. The Compak II was reportedly chosen for its "space-efficient" footprint and ability to produce bag widths of up to 250mm.

The product handling element was provided by an elevating and product settling conveyor, leading to a Kliklok Right Angle Transfer (RAT) unit, to orientate the 500g bags prior to cartoning on Kliklok's SFR medium-speed endloader. Kliklok says the SFR was favoured for its small footprint, patented rotary carton feeder and robust stainless steel construction, plus its easy and repeatable size change.
