Avon calling

17 June 2011

Avon Cosmetics is using two new CleanCode EV1 thermal ink jet printers, fitted with porous ink cartridges, supplied by Open Date Equipment, to print fixed information to outer cases containing individual customer orders.

Avon produces more than 1.5 million orders annually at Corby on two packing lines with a capacity of around 20 cases/min.

The CleanCode EVI is cheaper with lower running costs than competing machines, and it provides highly legible and fully formed characters with a print resolution of 300dpi, claims Open Date.

The EVI will print a one-line message in 12.5mm characters or two lines with 5.5mm high characters. The standard message length is one line of 24 characters or 48 characters in two lines of 24.
