Avery's €9M distribution centre opens
fresh horizons in the south of England

23 June 2003

Avery Dennison Roll Materials Europe has opened a e9M distribution centre in Milton Keynes to enhance service to customers in the south. Customers for Fasson and Jac brand self-adhesive roll label stocks can now enjoy next day delivery on a wide portfolio of ex-stock products – 72 products are offered in all with 17 available on the Exact or Exact Plus service.

Current capacity of the plant is 140Mm2 but when a further two slitters are added in mid October this year this will rise to 250Mm2.

A semi-automatic packaging line, featuring trolleys to carry the slit cheeses to wrapping, labelling and palletising stations, is to be installed by the end of July.

Strategically situated at the transport 'spine' of England, the 7000m2 facility is equipped with state-of-the art finishing equipment, including two 2m-wide Wickeltechnik slitters that are capable of handling both paper and film label stocks.

The distribution centre, which was formally opened by Avery Dennison vice-president and general manager, northern region, for Avery Dennison Roll Materials Europe, John Collins, is designed to take up to four slitters providing automatic trimming.
