Materials testing specialist Lloyd Instruments has introduced the Nexygen MT v4.5. Offering a library of international package tests, the new model has additional emphasis on security, data audit tracking and video capture.

Nexygen v.45 is used to control the company's 'Plus', EZ and LR testing machine ranges, as well as Chatillon digital forces gauges. The new security and audit trail features were developed to ensure strict data traceability.

The software now records time stamped details of all authorised logins and when each test is created or amended.

Video capture and playback can be used to record the test to help packaging manufacturers visually identify weak spots under test.

Packaging industry applications include testing the strength of binding tape, the slip of a plastics wrapping film, carton ring pull strength, the torque of slip top bottles and the adhesive seals on food containers.
