The robustness and visual impact of AssiDomän Frövi’s Frövi Bright were the key factors behind Gaiam International’s specification of the cartonboard for its POWERBreathe inspiratory muscle trainer.
POWERBreathe, of which there are three versions, is in effect a gym for the lungs, which “trains” them to breathe more efficiently.
Requiring the same world-class performance promised to athletes by the Sports Performance version of POWERBreathe from the selected packaging material, converter John Hampden Packaging convinced Gaiam cartons made of Frövi Bright would ensure the product reached the market in tip-top condition. Gaiam chose a book-type pack as the added panels provided extra space for text and instructions; Frövi Bright’s printability ensured clarity of text, while the window panel afforded product visibility.
Gaiam International product designer David Spurling said: “The plastic clamshell and leaflet initially chosen proved unsuitable and did not really provide the right image. Moving to the carton has seen sales increase.”
