APS says BRC accreditation will open up new markets

The company says it already enjoys close working relationships with the food industry in the US, where its parent company claims to have been a major player in food packaging for over 20 years. While APS in the UK has supplied bags and machinery to the domestic food manufacturing sector for some time, before achieving the BRC/IOP accreditation it had only ever supplied secondary and overpackaging systems. These included decorative sleeves and large bags for confectionery items. Earlier this year the company signalled its first concerted drive into the European food sector with the launch of the FAS SPrint bagging line, which is specifically designed for use in environments where frequent bag changes and daily washdowns are the norm. FAS SPrint is reportedly particularly suitable for producing bags for frozen and individually quick frozen (IQF) foods, fresh produce, fresh and dried pasta, snackfoods, petfood and multi- or variety packs.
