APS co-packer in temperature controlled expansion

27 February 2014

Contract packing firm Assembly and Packaging Services (APS) has installed a temperature controlled warehouse at its site in Blyth, Northumberland as part of plans to maximise new opportunities for the business.

APS has invested more than £40,000 on building improvements for new and existing clients, including a 5,500sq ft (179,000cu ft) temperature controlled zone suitable for housing various products including pharmaceuticals, beverages, liquids and baby care products.

The co-packer, which also has a site in Derby, is one of the UK’s leading contract packing companies, working with blue chip clients including The Body Shop, Coca-Cola, P&G, Boots and Nike.

Chris Turner, APS commercial manager, says: “We are approaching the start of a new contract with a multi-national producer of healthcare products and are in talks with a number of other firms about their fulfilment needs.

“Among the many other fast moving consumer goods industries we work in, confectionery is one of our key target areas so we are looking forward to opening doors there.”
