ANUTEC BRAZIL 2016: Successful against the trend

  • Currently more than 56 percent more registrations than in 2014
  • Only 15 percent of exhibition space still available
  • Supporting programme with participation of science and industry

NUTEC BRAZIL, which takes place from 2 to 4 August in Curitiba, is on a growth course: the trade fair for food technology currently has 56 percent more registrations than at a comparable point in time for the premiere event in 2014. 85 percent of the space is already occupied, and well-known companies like Bettcher, Multivac and Ulma have confirmed. 20 percent of the registered exhibitors registered directly from abroad - an exceptional percentage on the Brazilian trade fair market. Due to the large demand for exhibition opportunities, the organiser Koelnmesse has expanded the total area by 20 percent to 7,856 square metres. This is an indicator that ANUTEC BRAZIL is further expanding upon its position as a relevant industry meeting point and is growing against the trend. The success is based not only on ANUTEC BRAZIL's focus on the meat processing industry, which grew in contrast with the generally economically weak year of 2015, especially in the poultry and pork segments. The reason for the positive interim status is also the regionally unique concept of the trade fair: "ANUTEC BRAZIL is simultaneously a business, innovation and knowledge platform, and thus fulfils all needs of the market participants", says Denis Steker, Vice President International of Koelnmesse. "For international companies, the time to sound out and enter the Brazilian market is ideal. The know-how of Koelnmesse also makes it especially easy for international companies to find their feet in Brazil. ANUTEC BRAZIL is the perfect starting point for this." Research institutes also still evaluate the chances for technology manufacturers in the Brazilian food and beverage market as hopeful and advocate the trade fair format: "Brazil has the greatest growth potential in the food area worldwide", says Dr. Luis Fernando Ceribelli Madi, scientist at the Brazilian Institute for Food Technology ITAL. "Trade fairs focusing on food technology are decisive for the continued development of the sector, which is why we are once again supporting ANUTEC BRAZIL this year."

The Brazilian Institute for Food Technology ITAL is only one of many partners. Koelnmesse has concluded many more cooperative ventures with institutions of Brazilian industry and science for ANUTEC BRAZIL. The result is not only good networking with the branch on location, but in particular a professional supporting programme at the event itself. It is in no way only trade visitors who profit from this: "Thanks to our cooperative ventures and partnerships, we anticipate a high level of trade visitor quality, from which our national and international exhibitors will profit", says Denis Steker, Vice President International of Koelnmesse GmbH.

Knowledge platform
At ANUTEC BRAZIL, thanks to a substantial supporting programme, the regional trade public encounters not only well-known national and international providers of machinery and processes for the manufacturing, processing and packing of food products, but also experts from science and the economy. Representatives of renowned institutions will illuminate trends of the food branch, like biotechnology, health-conscious food products and the future needs of consumers. The Institute for Food Technology ITAL discusses, for example, current innovations in the field of food technology, packaging, food safety and food ingredients.
