Antalis gives history a helping hand

2 December 2002

Antalis Packaging, a transit packaging solutions provider, moved fast when Robert Opie's Museum of Advertising and Packaging in Gloucester appealed for assistance to transport the vast packaging collection to a new storage site.

"We teamed up with one of our key corrugated suppliers, Rigid Containers, and donated 1200 boxes to safely move part of the collection to its new storage location," says Antalis business manager Denise Reid.

"The collection's previous home in Gloucester Docks became due for redevelopment so we had to move," says museum founder Robert Opie.

The total collection comprises 500 000 packaging and advertising items from Victorian times to the present day, of which about 8000 were seen on display in Gloucester.
