Anson to smooth service with £2m Sutton switch

1 September 2006

Specialist thermoformed packaging supplier to the food and foodservice sectors Anson has opened a new £2m, 50,000ft2 warehouse at its Sutton site near Ely in the UK in a move to streamline its distribution.

By switching stock operations from Scotland to its Cambridgeshire headquarters, the company says it can deliver an even wider range of products and a faster, more efficient service to its blue-chip customers. It will also enable the Avro Group organisation to accommodate anticipated future business growth.

Avro Industries ceo Mark du Jardin says: “This is the latest initiative in our continuing drive to ensure Anson maintains its lead position in the industry. We are extremely proud of our excellent reputation for innovation and exceptional customer service and will continue to invest in both our facilities and our staff in order to remain competitive.”

The new warehouse embraces the latest technology - Anson's logistics partner uses new double-decker trailers designed to maximise efficiency. The BrettsTransport carriers can hold increased payloads to provide a faster, more productive service.
