Floeter Flexible Packaging specialises in stand-up pouch converting and is particularly known, Ampac says, for its “best-in-class” retort pouchmaking capability, supplying multinational global food and petfood brands, pharmaceutical, chemical and consumer care goods manufacturers.
The acquisition includes two German plants – at Eberdingen near Stuttgart and Leipzig, one in New Delhi, and one in Chicago. Floeter’s staff will become part of the Ampac Flexibles division of Ampac Holdings LLC.

Floeter Flexible Packaging Group is headed by ceo Marc Rapp, who established the company in 1985 and has a global reputation as a retort pouch converting expert. With Rapp at the helm, it will continue as a standalone company, reporting to George Thomas, vice-president and general manager, Ampac Flexibles, who says: “The acquisition is just one more step towards Ampac becoming the world’s premier supplier of stand-up pouches.”
With Floeter’s addition, Ampac will operate 14 manufacturing centres in North America, Europe and Asia. Thomas says: “Our Minneapolis retort-making facility mainly serves middle-market customers with small runs of custom-designed rotogravure printed pouches. In contrast Floeter already supplies pouches to many multinationals. The acquisition will broaden our European reach and add to our portfolio complementary pouchmaking technology. While US pouchmaking technology is perhaps 5-10 years behind that in Europe, we anticipate a 10% year-on-year growth in North American pouch use over the next few years.”International flexible packaging company Ampac Packaging has acquired privately-held Floeter Flexible Packaging Group in Germany for an undisclosed sum.
