Alluring dessert packs prove sales success

A clever pack combining APET and board sleeves which features glue lines imperceptible to the customer has been produced by DS Smith Cartons for The Serious Foods Company's launch of a new range of luxury desserts.

The brainchild of graphics agency PENN, the pack, which won a 2006 Starpack Award, had to exhibit excellent clarity, while the cartonboard sleeves are printed on the reverse to give the container an authentic handmade feel.

The desserts, which include mouthwatering recipes such as Trio of Crème Brulee, Champagne and Raspberry Trifle, were launched into UK Waitrose stores this year and have reportedly successfully established themselves at the premium end of the desserts market.
