Data capture solutions provider Kelgray has launched a range of "aggressively priced" direct thermal and thermal transfer barcode label printers aimed at the industrial and desktop markets.

The EZ-1200 series is a range of small footprint compact printers with the label and ribbon capacity of a larger printer. The printers can take a 127mm diameter label roll and a 300m ribbon and come with both direct thermal and thermal transfer printing options as standard. For simple connectivity the EZ-1200 units are supplied with USB, serial and parallel interfaces as standard and optional EZ-Ethernet.

The EZ-220 series is designed with a rugged metal case and "state-of-the-art mechanisms for large volume industrial label printing environments and are claimed to cost under half the price of an equivalent thermal printer. They have large graphic LCD displays to clearly show service information such as "label out" and "ribbon out", come with USB, serial, parallel and PS2 ports and can operate on a standalone basis without connection to a PC.
