Aerosol body issues first global challenge

1 September 2006

The European Aerosol Federation (FEA) is encouraging manufacturers, fillers, marketers and retailers of aerosols to enter the first ever international Aerosol Awards over the next year.

The Aerosols 2007 Awards, being hosted by the British Aerosol Manufacturers' Association (BAMA) on the FEA's behalf, will be presented at a Gala Dinner at the next FEA International Congress and Exhibition - Aerosols 2007 - in Manchester on 19 September 2007.

Any aerosols launched between May 2005 and May 2007 can be entered. Award categories include the Award for Innovation in Aerosol Packaging Design; the Award for the Most Innovative Aerosol Product, the Award for Environmental Achievement & Sustainability in the Aerosol Industry and the Award for the Most Creative Aerosol Marketing Strategy. Judging will take place after the 31 May 2007 closing date. Entries must be completed on the official entry form, available from the Aerosols 2007 website: www.aerosols2007.co.uk or by e-mailing: carolinefuller@bama.co.uk.

BAMA (T: +44 (0)20 7828 5111), which is also organising the 2007 FEA International Congress and Exhibition, says interest is already high with, for instance, over 40% of exhibition space at the event venue, the Manchester International Convention Centre (MICC) and G-MEX exhibition hall, already snapped up. BAMA anticipates around 2,000 visitors to the exhibition (the overall event theme is “Propelling aerosols worldwide”), while it is hoped around 90 global exhibitors will participate.

Each of the three Congress days will be themed, with a special delegate day-rate giving individuals the flexibility to choose which days they wish to attend. Sue Rogers, BAMA director, says: “Echoing market trends, the key congress focus will be on sustainability. Our plan is to base the event on workshops based around the three sub-themes of economic, environmental and social sustainability.

“The FEA congress has become increasingly international in recent years. Alongside focussing on the three inter-related sustainability areas, the presentations will also spotlight the most important scientific, regulatory and industry topics. We aim to make the 2007 FEA event the best yet.”
