Sun Chemical claims to have launched the world's most advanced cationic UV flexo ink system of its kind.
Its SOLARCAT ink technology reportedly offers curing times at least twice as fast as the nearest competitor for "dramatically improved efficiency" and production speeds. Alongside curing speeds of up to 250m/min, other key claimed advantages include lower humidity sensitivity, low press room and cured print odour and elimination of hazardous photoinitiator by-products during curing.
The technology also offers "exceptional adhesion and resistance on almost all filmic and metallised materials used in narrow web printing", up to 80% shrink performance, retortability without loss of adhesion, high colour strength and low viscosity.
