Adept claims world's fastest light payload packaging robot

14 March 2007

Adept Technology's new Adept Quattro s650 is claimed to be the world's fastest light payload packaging and handling robot.

Utilising a patented 4-link parallel drive and carbon fibre construction, it offers packaging cycle times reportedly twice as fast as conventional packaging robots and up to 240 pick-and-place cycles/min. Adept says it is also the world's packaging robot to have all its key controls inside, potentially saving space and simplifying installation. Adept's SmartController platform provides fully integrated vision and conveyor tracking for up to six conveyors, making the Quattro ideal for high-speed packaging applications where products are randomly located on moving conveyors. The robot also features over-the-belt mounting, a 1,300mm work envelope and 250mm Z-stroke together with washdown option.
