A matter of taste

4 August 2003

A panel of eight professional wine tasters has found that white wines in aluminium-capped bottles are fresher, more characterful and vibrant than those with corks! The top three wines nominated were all in the £7 plus price range.

The tasting, organised by Which? Magazine, showed that there was little difference in the taste of red wines.

"This is good news for manufacturers of aluminium closures and wine producers who have been battling for years to overcome the down-market image of screw-capped wine," says MPMA director Tony Woods.
