A hit for Clarifoil

4 June 2010

Clarifoil has proof that its cellulose acetate film is durable thanks to Johan Van Der Walt, of Rotterdam, whose laminated record sleeve needed mending after 40 years of service.

The album sleeve laminated with Clarifoil acetate, which had started to peel, dated back to February 1968 and included the Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch hit ‘The Legend of Xanadu’.

“I loved the fact that Johan managed to track us as the original source of this record sleeve film,” said Marion Bauer, Marketing Clarifoil. “What better endorsement for Clarifoil and the durability of our product range.”

Clarifoil, which produces films used for labels, carton windows and print lamination, wonders if anyone can top this longevity for a record sleeve, or other unusual application.
