A blacker shade of dark

Xaar believes it has found the holy grail in black inks that will produce unfading barcodes sought by retailers – particularly supermarkets.

Black+ ink, developed in partnership with ink vendor Sericol Imaging, combines what is seen as the best carbon black pigment and resin available for inkjet.

It is said to ensure ink remains a true black to be easily readable by barcode scanners.

The ink has been developed for exclusive use with the XJ128 and XJ500 printhead series. It is geared for use on absorbent surfaces such as paper and card and the use of a low volatility absorber allows the ink to dry rapidly once printed.
