€18M AMAZE PROJECT SET TO DELIVER FOUR-YEAR RESEARCH FINDINGS

The results of a four-year European-wide €18m project into additive manufacturing will be unveiled next week at an exclusive event at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Coventry.

The AMAZE project (Additive Manufacturing Aiming Towards Zero Waste & Efficient Production of High-Tech Metal Products), has involved 26 leading companies and institutions in industry, research and academia collaborating on what is the largest and most ambitious group assembled on additive manufacturing in Europe.

Featuring the likes of BAE Systems, the European Space Agency, Volvo, the MTC, Fraunhofer, the University of Birmingham and the Politecnico di Torino, the group will present its findings into this revolutionary technology at the MTC on Wednesday 7th June.

The event is open to businesses and academics interested in additive manufacturing and its applications.

Set up in 2013, the aim of AMAZE is to turn the additive manufacturing of metallic components into a mainstream industrial process for a range of high-tech sectors including aerospace, automotive and energy.

This ground-breaking project, funded by European Union's Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration, will present its findings, achievements and prototype components at the AMAZE Project Technology Forum.

It will feature a mix of presentations reflecting on the industrial activities and the research developments over the course of the four years.
