£1 million spend by Beatson Clark

23 November 2009

UK glass manufacturer Beatson Clark has announced a new £1 million-plus investment in machinery for its facility in Rotherham.

Italian company Bottero Glass Technologies has constructed the new K25 machine for Beatson Clark. Said to be the first of its type in the world, the machine has a ‘revolutionary’ design for mould and blank cooling, and uses proven electronic technology to form the products and give greater control of the process. It is expected to be operational by 30 November.

Beatson Clark production manager Tim Swetnam reveals: “The new machine replaces the old model that came into service in 1996 and while the old machine is still performing to a high standard, the opportunity is being taken to install the latest model, which will give us a greater quality control than ever before.”
