The rebranding of Lincoln Horse Bix, unveiled at the BETA Show in Birmingham earlier this year, is proving a worthy winner.
Produced by long-established veterinary supplies specialist Battle Hayward and Bower, Lincoln Horse Bix are the latest in the company’s extensive range to be given a modern new look following a change of ownership in 2006.
The smart new full-colour packs, which have replaced graphics with a photograph, have been designed in conjunction with film packaging specialists National Flexible.
Battles have worked with National Flexible before on other products so the Bradford-based company was the natural choice. The relationship meant that what could have been a long process was fast-tracked to meet the BETA deadline and technical print advice helped bring the cost down
A slight change in the density of the product meant the size of the foil bag had to be adjusted; and the vertical form fill and seal technique designed to work with new machinery which had been installed.
Marketing manager Anna Clarke said the new packs are ‘absolutely fantastic’: “National Flexible are really good to work with, they are very helpful in explaining the process and even invited us to see the job printing for the first time.”
• Lincoln Horse Bix are naturally-flavoured tit-bits for horses and ponies. They come in a range of flavours from peppermint and carrot, to honey and the latest banana.
