The party was attended by the Worshipful, the mayor, Councillor Jane Black and MP for Bury North, James Frith; customers, suppliers, staff, friends and family all enjoyed the open day. In her speech, the mayor congratulated The Vacuum Pouch Company, not only for the length of time in business, but also for being such an integral part of the community over the previous two decades.
Adam McCormack, managing director, spoke about some of the key highlights since 1998, including: several successful expansions, the British Retail Consortium (BRC) accreditation and implementation, new manufacturing machinery and selling online. He alluded to the great team of people who work at The Vacuum Pouch Company and also the relationships that have been forged with suppliers and customers.
Adding to what had been said James Frith MP put the anniversary into a national context, championing what the work of SMEs like The Vacuum Pouch Company do to sustain the economy as a whole. He particularly wanted to celebrate the recent apprenticeships (in Sales, Warehousing and Distribution) and how these were indicative of the Vacuum Pouch’s commitment to society.
Guests were then led on a tour of the impressive manufacturing, warehousing and office facility, before enjoying a buffet.
