SAICA PACK CELEBRATES 12 MONTHS OF SUCCESS AT THATCHAM INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP.

Thatcham’s Edison Room is a space dedicated to collaboration and interaction where customers can discuss and collaborate on innovative ideas with the Saica Pack teams

Since opening in January 2017, the Edison Room has transformed the way SAICA Pack interacts with customers and so far feedback has been abundantly positive. The room is a dedicated space which allows customers to sit alongside members of the SAICA Pack team and develop their products in collaborative workshops.

Customers are encouraged to work alongside members of the Saica Pack design, marketing and operations teams with the outcome of greater interaction and engagement producing organic ideas that can be worked into samples.

SAICA Pack believes that utilising one central space for the various teams and customers to gather facilitates productive discussions. During workshops, the SAICA Pack team is on hand to discuss any queries, ideas or challenges with customers. Design changes are able to be made there and then which speeds up the design process and improves efficiency.

The Edison Room is the latest enhancement to SAICA Pack’s Thatcham site, which receives customers from across Southern England and Wales. SAICA Pack has strived to create an environment conducive to engagement and understanding customer needs and is confident the positive feedback from the workshop room will continue into 2018.

Key recognition for the SAICA Pack team at Thatcham came recently after they won the “Best Print” award in the promotional print category at the prestigious annual FlexoTech Awards.

Kevin Thomas, SAICA South West Regional Director, said: “At SAICA, customer engagement is integral to our design process. The space has been purposely designed to maximise collaboration and includes open plan seating and benches for project teams to work around. We have been proud of the feedback we have received from our customers over the past 12 months and are looking to continue to drive this forward in 2018.”

Adam Dales, Procurement Manager, Non Food, Pizza Hut Europe said: “We had the opportunity to use the Edison room for a catch up meeting with the Saica team. The room layout allowed the meeting to flow much better in comparison to a standard board room layout. We were able to use the high table to gather round and discuss design ideas and then sit down in an informal setting when running through the presentations. We also loved the coffee machine!”

Mick Stawnicsky, Operations Manager, St Austell Brewery said: “It’s been a real pleasure to deal with you guys, the effort and input provided by the Saica team in your new facility at Thatcham has been genuinely impressive.”
