PACT2EARTH, the UK’s first producer of compostable & biodegradable can holders debuted at Packaging Innovations event on 11 and 12 September at Olympia London.
PACT2EARTH has developed a recyclable, compostable and biodegradable drinks can holder to replace traditional plastic rings. Its mission is to help facilitate the removal of single use plastics for packaging within the drinks industry.
Almost 700 species are now known to have been harmed by ocean plastic, and every year around 18 billion pounds of plastic flows into the ocean. Plastic rings are a common cause of harm to animals and the environment.
PACT2EARTH Co-founder Matt Williams says: “PACT2EARTH was borne from a desire to make a difference in a sector that we know and operate in. Co-founder Jamie has been instrumental in the growth of craft beer from bottles to cans through his mobile canning operation. His technical knowledge and insight combined with the customers, contacts and relationships we have within the drinks industry, along with our material and applicator partners, will make a game-changing product.”
