i2r Packaging Solutions boosts production with ongoing investments

Fuelled by strong growth in both UK and international markets, ongoing investments in new high speed presses has seen i2r increase capacity of its foil products by more than 50% over the past 12 months. i2r’s baking division also continues to experience growth with an additional three new presses being installed in January 2018 specifically for tulip muffin wrap production.

The Shropshire-based firm, part of the Italian Laminazione Sottile Group - one of the leading global suppliers of aluminium products, is the only UK manufacturer to provide the food industry with a single source for both aluminium foil containers and baking paper products.

i2r’s Jon West said: “We are currently seeing significant penetration across a number of key markets, especially overseas. The increased demand for aluminium and the infinite recyclability of our products has undoubtedly added to the momentum we are experiencing.

“Our ongoing investments form part of the company’s business expansion plans and growth ambitions, as well as future-proofing our business and positively addressing the sustainability issues faced by food manufacturers globally.”

i2r, who recently celebrated their 10th Anniversary, expanded its global reach last year with the purchase of its former South Korean distributor. Following the success of that acquisition, the firm has not ruled out more investments overseas to further enhance the Group’s operations.

i2r Packaging Solutions are exhibiting on Stand E89 at the Farm Shop & Deli Show at the NEC on 16-18 Apr.
