CUSHING JOINS AIMCAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Dan Bemi, president of the Association of International Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL), has appointed Ginger Cushing, global sales manager - Packaging at Michelman, Inc., Cincinnati, OH, to the association's Board of Directors. Cushing, who will serve as a director-at-large, replaces Ingrid Brase of Henkel Corp., Bridgewater, NJ, who stepped down due to other commitments.


Cushing joined Michelman in 2007 and focuses on water-based coatings for flexible packaging and converting. She began her career as a research chemist, and her resume includes management positions in R&D, technical support and sales of adhesives and coatings for the converting industry. An active volunteer with AIMCAL in the United States and Europe, she has written and delivered technical papers for conferences, short courses and symposia around the world.


She also has been actively involved with TAPPI, Peachtree Corners, GA, served as a division chair and was honored with its Division Leadership and Service Award. She holds a Master of Science in polymer chemistry from NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering, Brooklyn, NY, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Connecticut, Hartford, CT.
