Since the initiation of its CARES programme, historically dedicated to sustainable sourcing and an ethical approach to doing business, Cosfibel has continued to develop its corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy. In this context, the Group is now applying a global eco-design approach across its activities, with certain initiatives to be presented at Edition Spéciale by Luxe Pack.
Major CSR projects at Cosfibel include audits of partner factories in terms of energy usage, effluent management and the recuperation and valorization of production waste. In addition, eco-design plays a key role for the group’s Creative Committee, with the added expertise of a committee specifically dedicated to CSR. Conscious of what is at stake for brands when it comes to environmental initiatives, Cosfibel is implementing an increasingly structured approach in its research. It is capitalising on this with a database that brings together all the information and initiatives collected by the group’s ecosystem on the environmental impact of products during their lifecycle.
Materials and processes
The company innovates with its approach to sustainability in several areas, including sourcing (proximity, the impact of raw materials used, and so on), production methods (tooling, energy management) and recyclability. When it comes to materials, Cosfibel has historically worked with cardboard, paper, wood and even tin, recognized for its low carbon footprint.
