Colpac to launch easily recyclable and compostable heat seal sandwich pack

In keeping with its commitment to create food-to-go packaging that is both recyclable and compostable, whilst also minimising food waste, Colpac will launch the latest product from its Zest eco-packaging range at the forthcoming Packaging Innovations Show - a fully compostable and recyclable heat seal sandwich pack.

The Zest heat seal sandwich pack can extend the shelf life of sandwiches with short shelf-life ingredients beyond that of a same day tuck-top pack, provide tamper evidence without labelling and is set to be one of the most eco-friendly heat seal sandwich packs on the market.

With many conflicting messages on the different recycling streams of products, and the separation of materials confusing consumers, the Zest heat seal sandwich pack, including the window, is constructed from materials which allow the entire pack to be recycled as paperboard or composted as it meets the EU Directive Standard EN13432.  

Suitable for any food service operator, from delicatessens, salad bars and bakeries, to supermarkets and coffee shops and restaurants the Zest heat seal sandwich pack can be customised to suit a customer’s exact requirements.
