Cobevco smashes bottling target

11 March 2013

The Cheshire, UK-based company, part of the Quinn Glass group, initially set itself an “ambitious” target of 200 million bottles a year.

Gillian Walters, sales and marketing manager at Cobevco, says: “As the beverage market becomes increasingly globalised and overheads within the supply chain escalate, producers are increasingly turning to us to help them reduce their carbon footprint, improve the responsiveness of their supply chain and smooth out consistency in wine quality for fast moving products.”

The company says the latest bottling landmark is in line with its “ambitious plan to double its output volumes of wine and carbonated products by 2014”, which it plans to achieve through growing its links with the Australian and Chilean wine industries.

“As more and more producers realise the benefits of bulk filling, our outputs are set to increase even further,” says Walters.

With five high speed Krones bottling lines, a GEA processing plant, a laboratory manned seven days a week and a fully trained panel of tasters in-house, Cobevco’s 21,600m2 bottling facility is said to be capable of filling and packaging more than 5 million litres of wine, beer, cider, spirits and soft drinks per week.
