Budelpack invests in modernising its production and office facilities

Budelpack Poortvliet BV has invested 500,000 Euros in maintenance to and the modernisation of its offices, production and outdoor areas. In 2012, a large-scale maintenance and renovation project was started that focuses on tackling periodic maintenance and future-proofing the company's facilities future-proof in a structured manner. All with a view to safeguarding food and operational safety, improving energy saving and updating the building's appearance.

Production area renovation
During the initial renovation phase in 2012, the entire factory was equipped with a new, four times as insulated roof. Since 2013, 11 of the 32 conditioned production areas for food-safe packaging have been renovated. The floors have been entirely renewed, the walls have been replaced and the ceiling tiles have been modernised. The renovation of the latter elements was undertaken in order to be able to clean them according to the strict, statutory cleaning regulations aimed at preventing contamination.

Replacing the air-conditioning
Air flow and temperature control play important roles in the food-safe packaging of products. Budelpack therefore drew up a multi-year plan for the phased replacement of all air-conditioning units in the building. The plan is based on replacement resulting from malfunction, changing legislation or client-set project requirements. The plan is currently in motion. The new, standalone units meet the legal requirements, energy-saving guidelines and have the latest technical specifications.

As one of Western Europe's largest, most innovative co-packers Budelpack annually packages 200 million solid, liquid, powdered or granulated food products in flexible, rigid, cardboard and innovative packaging. Budelpack resolves manufacturers and retailers' packaging concerns, capacity problems and investment risks adding distinctiveness, user-friendliness and/or cost price improvements to their products.
