Ball showcases impeccable printing techniques in partnership with Heineken which sees Serbian artwork transfarred onto cans

Ball, the world’s leading can manufacturer, has partnered with Heineken Serbia, a long-standing customer, for an exclusive limited edition can design together with the Serbian National Museum.

Produced in Ball’s Belgrade, Serbia, facility, the new cans use Ball’s 50-centiliter standard can format. Heineken created four limited edition cans, which showcase Ball’s impeccable high-definition printing technique, for its Zajecarsko brand.

In celebration of the re-opening of the Serbian National Museum following a 15-year closure, Heineken selected four pieces of artwork from the museum, which houses more than 3,000 paintings and 900 sculptures. Heineken worked closely with Ball to transfer the designs onto cans (the perfect 360-degree canvas) for a unique collaboration that truly emphasizes Ball’s unique capabilities in design and graphics.

The Ball team ensured the artwork portrayed on the can reflected the original paintings, utilizing its popular HD printing technique. HD technology is based on direct laser engraved plates, allowing the customer to achieve a higher visibility of fine detail, which proved crucial when implementing these designs.

The limited-edition cans celebrate the work of famous Serbian artists Paja Jovanovic, Dimitrije Avramovic, Sava Sumanovic and Nadezda Petrovic. Furthermore, 1 Serbian Dinar from each can sold will go to the museum to provide continued support following the reopening.

A spokesperson from Zajecarsko comments: “Ball was a clear choice when it came to choosing a partner for this unique can design. The team was innovative, excited and helpful when assisting in choosing the designs and printing options. The cans bring the beautiful artwork into the hands of the people in Serbia.”

Jovan Jovanovic, sales manager for Ball comments: “The collaboration is unique for Ball and really puts our printing techniques to the test. We see a great appeal for limited edition packaging and are delighted with the result.”

Supported by a fully integrated marketing campaign, the cans will be available to purchase until the end of June in Serbia.
