PCD highlights luxury packs
1 December 2009The sixth PCD Congress focusing on perfumes, cosmetics & design will take place in Paris on 26 and 27 January, 2010
The PCD exhibition is dedicated to packaging innovations for the perfumes and cosmetics sectors. In January, it will bring together over 1,400 brand owners and packaging suppliers from 30 countries. Running alongside is a congress and its core theme will be sustainable development.
The programme of lectures features leading packaging suppliers of glass; pumps and dispensing systems; packaging materials; converters; experts in surface treatment; finishing and artwork; anticounterfeit devices and service providers.
On the first day, the congress will be chaired by Alain Béthune and Charles Duclaux, L’Oréal. Speeches by PWC, Alcan Packaging Beauty, Pôle Européen de Plasturgie, M-Real, EskoArtwork, DuPont Packaging, Neopac, PolyOne, Global Closures Systems, Ecocert and Unilever will take stock of environmental labelling, eco-design, bio and agro-materials, recyclability, colouring, and standards certification.
Michel Dupuis and Pascale Marciniak-Davoult, Chanel, will chair after lunch. Packaging and dispensing innovations for perfume will be viewed from a sustainable development angle by Bormioli Rocco & Figlio, Heinz Flaconnage, SGD, VPI, MWV Beauty & Personal Care, Ileos-Socoplan, Amcor UK, Korsnas, API Laminates and Stora Enso. This session will take stock of the latest advances in recyclability, artwork technologies, personalisation of components and materials.
A session chaired by Hervé Bouix, of Estée Lauder, USA, will cover the field of cosmetics. Insights will be given by Alcan Packaging Beauty, Pierre Fabre
Dermo cosmétique, Promens Personal & Healthcare Packaging, Oekametall, Rexam Personal Care, Texen, CD Cartondruck, CER, MWV, Rexor, Graphocolor, CinqPats. They will focus on eco-design, materials, forming and processing technologies, surface treatments, artwork technologies and modes of application.
The afternoon will be set aside for the PCD Awards ceremony.
