FLEXO IN SIGHT: The print awards – we are listening to our members

28 September 2011

by Debbie Waldron-Hoines, executive director, EFIA

EFIA is planning its 2012 “Ruby Anniversary” print awards event and we are pleased to confirm some changes to the traditional awards categories. These changes have been made at the request of the membership to reflect a broader spectrum of flexo capability, as well as to reflect the Europeanisation of the association, in line with the EFIA Pillar strategy. The EFIA Board is always keen to listen to new ideas from its membership and ensure that the EFIA Print Awards truly reflect today’s flexo industry in all its forms.

For the March 2012 Print Awards, three new categories have been inserted:

¦ Best Retail “Off Shelf”

¦ Best International Entry

¦ Post Print on Folder Gluers

The Best Retail “Off Shelf” category takes the EFIA board members into supermarkets across the UK to review packs in situ. The award is intended to recognise those printers that are delivering consistent quality and innovation right to the shelf, as opposed to the best example prints submitted to the judging panel.

Best International Entry is designed to recognise our European flexo industry and ensure that the European nature of the EFIA organisation is correctly represented. Finally, a new category of recognition for post print conducted on folder gluers has also been added.
