2D code will have ‘universal appeal’

12 January 2010

Code developments rolling out in 2010 could benefit manufacturers in many sectors, says Tim Stokes, product manager of coding equipment specialist Sick UK. The GS1 DataMatrix ECC200 code will introduce a 2D code normally displayed as a square matrix of light and dark ‘dots’. By meeting ISO/IEC 16022 requirements it will achieve a ‘near universal appeal’. See Packaging Today November/December for further details. Pictured are Sick ICR840 coder units.
