‘Effortless’ can opening

29 July, 2010

Metal packaging manufacturer Impress is offering a new easy-open end with ‘even easier’ finger access for ‘effortless’ opening of cans.

OptiLift features a flexible panel patented by Impress that is convex before seaming and becomes concave after sterilisation. This is said to lead to greater finger access by increasing the gap between the panel and the tab.

The finger well is designed to intuitively guide the finger to the correct position for ease of opening, adds Impress.

OptiLift comes in a full range of diameters of steel easy open ends: 65, 73, 83 and 99mm.

”OptiLift is a major step forward in consumer convenience,” said Jacqueline Turlings, Impress Business Development and Marketing Manager, Food Division.
