Schubert - Automated packaging systems specialist Schubert has reorganised its UK sales team, promoting David Maddern to the new position of sales director responsible for developing new business and overseeing UK sales activities. Maddern, who joined the Midlands-based company in 2003 as southern sales executive, heads up a team which also includes northern area sales executive David Drury and Ireland sales executive Desmond Farrell,

Global Closure Systems - Replacing Chris Harrison as ceo of Paris-headquartered Global Closure Systems is Christian Voegeli, formerly the company’s president of speciality closures, Europe and Americas. Voegeli, who has en engineering doctorate from Grenoble University and spent time earlier in his career in the automotive sector, will retain direct responsibility for the GCS speciality closures business.

Schoeller Arca Systems - Peter Doyle, who has managed the plastic packaging supplier’s plastic pallet business for the past four years, is to head a new Irish division for Schoeller Arca Systems. In his new senior role as business development manager, Ireland, Doyle will oversee the promotion and sales of the company’s logistics products, including Big Boxes, plastic pallets, Epilog bale arm crates and foldable Magnum containers.

DataLase - Originator of the award-winning DataLase laser reactive coating technology DataLase has a new UK business development manager. Mark Muir joins from Videojet, where, as regional sales manager, he reportedly generated a 125% rise in turnover for the company in central England in just five years.

Claricom - Bringing “a wealth of food industry experience” to his new role as UK sales manager for Claricom’s Packaging Coding Management (PCM) business, Mike Smith was most recently systems technical sales support for the south-east sales team at weighing systems specialist Avery Weigh-Tronix. Claricom says PCM technology “removes human error in date and traceability coding operations to eliminate risk and ensure efficiency, accuracy, flexibility and efficiency”.

Newman Labelling - Kevin Triggs, who first joined the company in 1987 before leaving in 1994 and returning five years later as engineering manager, has been appointed to Newman Labelling Systems’ Board of Directors as engineering director. His new remit will include engineering responsibility for both existing and new machines.
