Romaco, MpMA, DataLase, Crown Closures...

Romaco - Following the recent appointment of Tom Luken as president, machinery and systems supplier to the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food and chemical sectors Romaco has announced a further addition to its senior management team. Gary Kedgley, who has spent over 30 years in manufacturing and engineering-led businesses, joins as vice-president, sales and marketing, based at Romaco's Karlsruhe European headquarters. Kedgley was most recently vice-president, global project sales and management for Invensys APV.

MPMA - Lee Fairman, operations director at Crown Food UK & Ireland, took over from Bill Boyd of Afon Tinplate as chairman of the Metal Packaging Manufacturers' Association at the association's recent AGM. Fairman, who has worked in the sector for the past 14 years, said he was taking up the new role “at an extremely important time” for the industry following the creation of new European metal packaging body EMPAC, of which MPMA is an associate member.

DataLase - Originator of the award-winning DataLase colour change chemistry process DataLase has a new chairman. Previously a non-executive director, Trevor Bailey will use his packaging experience to help the business grow while working closely with the executive management team to increase the presence of DataLase and its product range globally.

Crown Closures - Crown Closures has promoted Jorges Sallent, a chemical engineering graduate with “vast experience” working with multinationals and extensive knowledge of the company's key geographical markets, to the post of European sales and marketing director. Previously responsible for these activities in Spain, Morocco and Portugal, he will now consolidate sales and marketing in Western and European Europe, the Middle East and Mediterranean countries.

Payne - Hamish Pitt, who has worked for the tear tape specialist for the past two years on assignment in Japan, has been appointed regional manager, Asia-Pacific by Payne. To assume responsibility for all sales and operations in the region, Pitt previously worked for Payne parent company Filtrona as general manager of its filter business in Indonesia.

Allied Glass - West Yorkshire-based glass packaging specialist Allied Glass has promoted Iain Adam to the position customer services manager. He joins from Chivas Brothers, where he has spent the past four years as technical account manager in Scotland.
