The European Metallizer's Association has elected Lothar Zapf from Hueck-Foilen as its new president. Dr Walter Nosotti from Metalvuotopack in Italy handed over the reins after three years as chair. The new president's first task will be to extend the appeal of the Association to include not only European metallizers but also converters of flexible materials. Whereas EMA has seen itself mainly as the promoter of metallized products, Lothar Zapf will be responsible for reconciling a technological association in which applied technical processes for surface conversion are to be further developed.
