X-ray inspection for food

5 July 2011

Its ‘totally new’ X-ray inspection system for the food sector pays special attention to hygiene, says S+S Inspection.

Raycon X-ray inspection has foldaway covers with safety interlocks for easy cleaning and compliance with food industry standards and retailer Codes of Practice.

It is designed to detect metallic and non-metallic contamination in packaged and unpackaged products. Further, it can identify agglomerated, deformed, broken and missing items, even in metallic packaging. Whole or part product checkweighing during the inspection process is a further option.

Integration into an existing production line can be done with minimum disruption, after which it will deliver exceptional reliability while simplifying and reducing routine maintenance costs, states S+S.

Standard belt widths are 230 and 330mm for products up to 150mm high and 630mm for products up to 450mm high.
