17 November 2010

The sheep’s wool insulated packaging system Woolcool has won the Best Eco Friendly Product category of this year’s Green Business Awards.

The UK awards, accredited by the Royal Society of Arts, celebrate excellence in green practices, strategies and products.

Th Wool Packaging Companyl believes its latest award reflects growing recognition of ingenuity, effectiveness and green credentials ‘which make Woolcool such an impressive insulated packaging product’.

Professional packaging designer and the firm’s Managing Director Angela Morris conceived and developed Woolcool using British sheep’s wool, which is available in abundance, completely biodegradable and nature’s original ‘smart fibre’ for insulation applications, the company says.

For products from food to pharmaceuticals, Woolcool has been proven to keep chilled contents consistently cooler for longer than fossil fuel based alternatives, maintaining temperatures below 5°C for at least 24 hours.
