Wemyss Malts chooses Trucard for Lord Elcho

Trucard from Tullis Russell, has been selected by Edinburgh based boutique spirits company Wemyss Malts for its blended Scotch brand, Lord Elcho. The board from the employee-owned company has been used to produce the carton for the multi-award winning brand.

Karen Stewart marketing of Wemyss Malts commented: "We chose Trucard 0 felt to support the hand-crafted nature of our new blended Scotch, Lord Elcho. Its natural, uncoated finish suits the historical tale behind the 18th century character which names this whisky. Luxury packaging is increasingly important to support the success of our whisky brands in export markets and Trucard 0 felt had both the print qualities to carry the strong full colour brand imagery and the subtle tactile surface we needed to suit the styling of this premium brand."

Malcolm Sinclair, export sales director at Tullis Russell commented: "Brand holders recognise the impact great design, inspired paper choice and brilliant print can have. A carton board range that also allows them to create real differentiation for their brands, not only in the way they look on the shelf but also what the packaging says about the brand through the feel and texture of the carton, is what brand holders are increasingly looking for. Trucard offers this through the broadest range of any SBS cartonboard on the market with an unrivalled variety of coated and uncoated surfaces, environmental options and weights."

Wemyss Malts is owned by the Wemyss family is from Scotland and their family seat is Wemyss Castle in Fife where they've lived since the 1300s.
