Velcro Industries has for the first time supplied its Press-Lok hook-to-hook closure technology to a company in the US food sector: California organic rice producer, Lundberg Family Farms.
The third generation family-run, Sacramento Valley company worked with Canada-based flexible packaging manufacturer Peel Plastics Products to convert its existing lay-down packaging to a flat-bottom stand up pouch, incorporating Velcro Industries’ Press-Lok closure.
By having the new rice package standing upright on store shelves, Lundberg is targeting greater brand presence and consistency in shelf-sets that are already accommodating other grain brands in stand-up pouch packages, as well as fulfilling the needs of the consumer.
