Vaassen seals new markets

10 December 2010

Vaassen Flexible Packaging (VFP) is offering three-layer induction seal liners to help speed the path to market for sauces, condiments and dairy products.

The foil, which has been supplied to Weener Plastic Packaging Group for Homann’s Livio sauces, acts as an inlay to the screw cap of the bottles to ensure pack integrity, tamper evidence and product freshness.

Clondalkin Group company VFP’s new concept is an alternative to the foil-based four layer laminate seal comprising PET, foamed PE, aluminium and a seal layer. It replaces the PET and PE with a single layer of PET50.

Removing one stage in the production line, the PET50 is said to provide sufficient isolation to avoid melting the screw cap in the sealing process, and rigidity.
