TRM secures Whyte & Mackay secondary packaging contract

20 January 2014

Independent food and drink packaging manufacturer TRM Packaging has secured an exclusive contract to supply boxes for spirits producer, Whyte & Mackay.

According to Lancashire-based TRM, the deal will see TRM providing boxes to Whyte & Mackay for all of its ranges of spirits, which include Vladivar vodka, single malt whiskies Jura and Dalmore and the Claymore blended whisky.

The contract is an expansion of the current arrangement between the two companies and will run for 12 months beginning in March 2014.

Trevor Maund, chief executive at TRM Packaging said: “The expansion of this contract is a testament to TRM’s dedication to enhancing its services through investment in industry leading machinery and our employees.

“Every brand wants the best and most appropriate packaging for their product, and at TRM we ensure we have the capabilities to meet these demands.”

The deal follows a £3.2 million investment by TRM in a Gopfert Impression printer, which allows for seven-colour printing directly onto corrugate at 0.2mm accuracy.

Much of the secondary packaging manufactured for Whyte & Mackay will be printed using the Gopfert machine, the company says.
