UK-based corrugated packaging manufacturer TRM Packaging has purchased a 'game changing' Göpfert Impression 7-colour flexo press which will enable the company to provide high quality shelf-ready packaging to its retail and packer-filler clients.
According to TRM, it will be "the best specified machine in the UK", due to the inclusion of camera print registration control, full infra-red drying and the new Kleenplate technology which ensures dustfree printing. With a maximum sheet size of 2,400mm x 1,600mm and a capacity of 10,000 sheets per hour, the Göpfert Impression also delivers a registration accuracy of 0.2mm between colours.
Trevor Maund, chief executive at TRM Packaging, says: "It allows us to deliver the quality only previously reached with preprinted liner packaging or litho-laminated board, but achieved in a single pass printed directly onto diecut corrugated packaging. We can therefore provide higher quality more efficiently for our customers which will positively impact on their bottom lines. It is a real game changer for us and for the UK secondary packaging market as a whole."
The first job is expected to roll off the new press in mid-September.
