Transit packaging company Nicklin marks 100 years

20 May 2013

Founded in 1913, fourth generation family-run Nicklin Transit Packaging is this year celebrating its 100th year of trading in the sector.

From “humble beginnings” the Birmingham, UK-based company has become one of the UK’s longest established and most experienced nationwide providers of bespoke timber and corrugated transit packaging products and services, recording turnover in excess of £7m in 2012.

Nicklin plans to mark its centennial year with a “substantial programme of investments” in IT, automation, machinery, new staff and a revamped online presence.

Managing director David Nicklin says: “Though the company has evolved significantly since 1913, embracing many new technological developments along the way, throughout our evolution we have maintained the old-fashioned values on which the business was founded.

“Put simply, this means continuing to provide customers with first class service and a range of the highest quality, rigorously accredited products tailored to their individual requirements.”

Nicklin Transit Packaging’s product range includes bespoke pallets, timber cases, timber crates, plywood cases, corrugated cases and timber components.
