10 November 2011

Dates have been finalised for the largest packaging show in Asia, Tokyo Pack 2012, which will take place on 2-5 October 2012 at the capital city’s international exhibition centre Tokyo Big Sight.

Tokyo Pack 2012 will present state-of-the-art packaging, production and processing solutions for companies in the main sectors of food & beverage, confectionery & bakery products, pharmaceuticals & cosmetics, non-food consumer goods, industrial products.

Launched in 1966 and owned and operated directly by the Japan Packaging Institute (JPI), the biannual exhibition will feature more than 2,600 stands representing 500 companies in the 23,000sq m exhibition space, which attracts more than 70,000 visitors from Japan and overseas.

In addition to the main exhibition, the Good Packaging Pavilion will showcase the year’s best in Japanese packaging innovation and technology – the Japan Star 2012 award winners.

Also featured will be international pavilions showcasing packages and companies from China, South Korea and Sweden.

In 2010, Tokyo Pack attracted more than 62,200 visitors and companies from 11 countries – including Japan, South Korea, Switzerland, Sweden, UKm, USA, Brazil, China, Thailand, Taiwan and Indonesia. The 2012 Tokyo Pack edition, the organiser says, is set to exceed all previous exhibitor and visitor numbers, as Japan’s packaging industry rapidly expands in line with the nation’s investment and recovery following the earthquake and tsunami in March 2011.

Exhibitor registration is still open. Advance visitor registration will start in July 2012.
