TheMagicTouch - Award Winning Bottle Printing

At this year's Trophex exhibition held at the NEC in Birmingham TheMagicTouch were awarded the prestigious "Best Innovation" accolade for the second successive year.

This year's successful entry introduced the unique full colour direct image transfer process for the decoration of glass bottles and jars offering a premium "no label" look and feel.

Using the unique Oki 711 "White Toner" LED digital printer and TheMagicTouch CPM transfer paper the company have developed a quick and simple method to produce full colour images onto various shaped bottles or jars regardless of glass colour.

Having witnessed in 2014 the success of personalised labels on selected drinks brands including Famous Grouse and several Champagne brands, together with the global success of the personalised Coca-Cola bottles, there is now the opportunity to print and personalise "directly to the surface" a vast range of glass products. Potential applications include limited edition bottles, personalised gifts, promotional and recognition products, together with the obvious wine, beer, cider and spirits markets.

The CPM toner-based transfers are be applied using a traditional mug press in less than 2 minutes, costing as little as 15p per full colour transfer.

Jim Nicol, Managing Director, commented "We introduced the white toner technology over a year ago and continue to find new and innovative applications using the same technology and heat press equipment. The ability to print to the quality we are achieving on the bottles is truly astounding and is great to be recognised by the visitors to the show and their online voting audience".

The process involves glass products with no special coating enabling the user to source empty bottles or jars from a multiple of options including online wholesalers and even retailers.
