Tetra Leaf pack gets Russian debut with Coca-Cola Dobry juices

11 December 2012

Coca-Cola Hellenic is the first company to employ Tetra Pak’s new Tetra Gemina Aseptic (TGA) Leaf package, with the relaunch of its market-leading Dobry fruit juice range in Russia.

The latest innovation within the Tetra Gemina Aseptic family, TGA Leaf is said to build on the functionality of the TGA Square package, which features a gable-topped design for achieving the best possible product flow.

TGA Leaf maintains these key attributes, while the shape of the package body is new, with the addition of four leaf-shaped panels along the long edges.

It comes in a 1000ml package size, intended predominantly for use in the home.

Utilising the recently launched HeliCap 27, TGA Leaf also delivers a larger net pouring area for higher liquid flow and a smooth overall pouring performance for the consumer.

The design also incorporates irregular and large knurls – an added convenience feature for an improved grip.

Pierre Philippenko, marketing director for Multon, a Coca-Cola unit in Russia that develops and produces healthy fruit-based food and beverage products in aseptic packaging, says: “Russians like and value innovation. I’m confident that Dobry consumers will like Dobry juice in this new and more convenient package.”

Consumer research conducted in Russia and Spain in 2012 demonstrated that “consumers rate the TGA Leaf higher in visual appeal, environmental performance and functionality, compared to similar packages”.

Charles Brand, Tetra Pak vice president marketing & product management, says: “The TGA Leaf is an example of how our deep market insight, continuous innovation and collaboration with customers leads to the development of packaging solutions that meet both customer and consumer needs.”

The TGA Leaf can be produced on the Tetra Pak A3/Flex for Tetra Gemina Aseptic packaging machine, meaning that Coca-Cola customers can produce three different shapes – TGA Square, TGA Crystal and TGA Leaf – and four different sizes – 1500ml, 1000ml, 750ml and 500ml for the Square shape; 1000ml for the Crystal and Leaf shapes.

Coca-Cola Hellenic is one of the world’s largest bottlers of products under the trademark of The Coca-Cola Company, operating in 28 countries.

Located in Athens, Greece, the company is Europe’s leading manufacturer of beverages trademarked by The Coca-Cola Company, with sales of more than 2 billion unit cases and serving a population of approximately 560 million people.
